A study of in vitro proliferation and propagation of three promising genotypes of sweet potato on MS supplemented with 0.20 mg/1 glycine, 0.05 mg/1 nicotinic acid, 0.05 mg/1 pryidoxine, 0.01 mg/1 thiamine HC1, 0.02 mg/1 IAA and 0.05 mg/1 NAA and MMS supplemented with 2.0 mg/1 thiamine HC1, 1.0 mg/1 IAA, 2.0 mg/1 Kn revealed that vitamins have profound effects on proliferation and propagation of shoot tip explants of sweet potato. MS with supplements showed better results for most of the parameters than that of MMS. Varietal response to different culture media was insignificant indicating that varieties responded equally well irrespective of culture media used.
