Rapid clonal propagation of Amritsagar (Genome AAA) banana was done through meristem tip culture. Shoot proliferations were observed on MS medium supplemented with BAP. At 30 ?M/1 BAP shoot regeneration was highest but stunted in growth. But at 25 BAP, a good number of healthy shoots were produced. The shoots started to initiate roots within 3-4 days of incubation in rooting media. The shoots developed a large number (7.1) of longest roots (4.2 cm) on MS medium successfully transferred in polybags and finally were well established in the field.
