Plantlets were regenerated from shoot tips of mature Chrysanthemum morifolium cv. ?Super yellow? plants. Shoot proliferations were observed on MS medium supplemented with 0.5and 1.0 mg/1 BAP. At 2.0 mg/1 BAP shoot regeneration was higher but they were compact and stunted in growth. The shoots developed roots within 4-5 days in ? MS, ? MS + 0.25 mg/1 indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) and ? MS + charcoal. In ? MS with activated charcoal, root initiation was delayed and stunted in growth. All the regenerated plantlets were successfully transferred in pots in greenhouse and were well-established in soil.
