COMPARISON OF CLONE PERFORMANCE ON DIFFERENT NUTRIENT MEDIA IN POTATO

Comparisons of the growth of the in vitro culture of four dihaploid potato clones on MS and Knop?s media showed that the clones differed in their propensity to grow on the media. Two clones showed superior performance on MS for shoot length, leaf and root number. The two media were almost eqally good for shoot length and leaf number for one clone, while the fourth clone responded better in Knop?s medium for this two traits. MS medium was, however, better for root number in all clones.
