Using shoot tip explants of Acaca catechu the highest number of multiple shoots were obtained in MS medium containing a combination of 1.5 mg/1 BAP and 1.0 mg/1 NAA. Highest mean length of shoots was also obtained in the same combination. A concentration of 1 mg/1 IBA in MS medium proved to be the best for good rooting. No significant difference was observed between the fresh leaf of tissue culture derived regenerants and natural plants with respect to their chlorophyll-a, chlorophyll-b, carotenoid and soluble protein content.
