Plant regeneratin in a hybrid (Cucurbita maxima ? moschata) squash from cotyledonary explants was achieved on Murashige and Skoog?s (MS) medium. High frequency of shoot formation occurred when MS medium was supplemented with 0.1 mg/1 BP and 0.1 mg/1 NAA. Development of shoot buds were observed when they were subcultured in the same medium. Addition of casein hydrolysate and coconut water in the medium inhibited bud initiation and shoot regeneration. Rooting of in vitro regenerated shoots was obtained in MS medium with 0.1 mg/1 NAA.
