Cytological studies of the calli raised from various explants viz. stem, cotyledone, hypocotyl, root and floral bud of Brassica camprestris var. Yellow sarson (2n = 20), B. juncea var. RLM 619 (2n=36) and B. alba (2n=24) were carried out. Mixoploidy was observed in callus cultures and diploid cells were most common besides triploid, tetraploid and pentaploid. Polyploidy was more common in B. campestris and B. juncea. No cytochimerism was observed in B. alba cultures. The meiotic like behaviour was observed in somatic cell cultures of B. juncea in floral bud callus.
