Single node stem cuttings of ?Sahara F1? cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) were in vitro grown on MS medium supplemented with (0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 mg/1) of the either benzyladenine (BA), kinetin (Kn), gibberellin (GA3), indoleacetic acid (IAA) or indolebutyricacid (IBA). IAA and IBA showed significant enhancement of rooting, while Kn and GA3 promoted shoot proliferation. BA and Kn induced callus formation compared with the control. Ninety per cent of the rooted microshoots survived the in vivo acclimatization conditions, grew, flowered and set fruits number under the glasshouse conditions.
