Direct pollen embryogenesis was achieved in isolated pollen cultueres of two cultivars of Indian mustard (Brassica juncea), in NLN medium containing 13% sucrose. The cultivar Bio-417 produced embryos in the absence of growth hormones but cv. Bio-902 responded only in the presence of BAP and NAA. Whereas cv. Bio-902 showed better response with full strength B5 wash-medium, cv. Bio-417 responded better when the strength B5 wash-medium was reduced to half.
