In vitro grown Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat cv. Lucido plants were single prestressed of water on rooting media (without hormone) and double prestressed on proliferation (2.0 mg/1 BA and 0.1 mg/1 NAA) as well as on rooting media. Water stress was induced by incorporating sorbitol at 0, 0.2, 0.4 M to the media before pH adjustment. Prestressed plants showed significantly higher survival percentage and growth during acclimatization under glasshouse conditions. Single prestressing at 0.2 M sorbitol on rooting media proved to be enough for better acclimatization. In vivo water potential lost its ability to be an acclimatization parameter and showed no significant differences among treatments.
